SMUB95's WRAP PRESEASON as 1000 OAKS CLASSIC "CHAMPIONS"

Battling triple-digit temperatures over two days, SMU's BU95 team emerges as "CHAMPION" of the 200 THOUSAND OAKS CLASSIC the weekend of August 29-30.

Pool play began with a 9-0 win over MSC Express, followed by a 6-0 victory over LA Rampage. Sunday morning proved to be a bigger challenge vs. Ajax FC. Although SMU lost that match 2-3, the team advanced as pool winners to the final, with a mouth-watering encounter against the silver elite tournament host team, NPSC Black Cats.

SMU B95 came away with a narrow 2-1 victory (after extra time) in a fiercely fought final. Congratulations everyone.

Congratulations to Chris Walter's BU9 team for making it to the "2009 1000 Oaks Classic" final on the weekend of August 20-30.The team is in it's inaugural season of competitive club soccer.

Coach Brad Legant's BU10 Santa Monica United team was also a finalist in its respective age bracket in the 1000 Oaks classic. A very proud achievement for players, coaches and families alike and a great way to wrap up preseason preparations.

GU10 SMU G99 TEAM MAKES IT TO ANOTHER FINAL!

Th GU10 SMU G99 team was narrowly beaten 1-0 by a very  
formidable FC Long Beach team in last weekend's OC Kickoff Classic U-10 final. This was the second tournament final for the team in as many weekends this preseason.

In pool play,the team went 3-0, scoring eight and conceding  
none. Congratulations everyone on an amazingly successful presaeson thus far.

They've done it again! SMUFC's Girls U10 team won their flight at the Irvine Showcase the weekend of August 8-9, shutting out FC Man Utd 3-0 in the final.
